Protein Oats with Friends (Toppings)
POST WORKOUT OATS | Is there anything easier than Oats? When I worked in an office (gosh we're talking over 12 years ago now eeeek!) I used to keep dry, quick oats in my bottom stationary draw, along with some protein powder. Whenever I was hungry, rather than reaching for the nutrition-less cookie jar, I would make myself this kind of bowl (pictured above). Now, I'm not much of a snacker, but when I do, I make sure it's relatively high in protein because remember, it's the one macronutrient we can't store - we can store fat and carbohydrates, but not protein.
Whether you've just hit up a workout and need a hit of protein and starchy carbs, or you're just Hungry AF - think this cheeky snack is a must!
1 cup cooked Oats (cooked in hot water with a dash of nut milk)
1 half cup Frozen Blueberries
2 scoops Vegan Protein Powder
1 half teaspoon of Vanilla (powder, not extract)
1 handful of your favourite nut mix, I'm using Raw Power Mix for extra crunch!
1. Follow the instruction for cooking oats (everyone likes their oat consistency slightly differently so I'm not going to mess with this)
2. Once the oats are cooked to your liking mix in your protein and vanilla powders.
3. Add the blueberries on top, along with the nuts.
4. Consume mindfully.
